Active Perl

Active Perl is a server-based program distributed by ActiveState (http://www.activestate.org) that provides Perl processing capabilities to the Windows platform. The latest version is available for download from http://www.activestate.org/Products/Download/Download.plex?id=ActivePerl

Active Server Page

Active Server Pages are files that contain script embedded script that prepares HTML for the user. ASP files are processed on the server before being sent to the user. On Microsoft Web Servers running Internet Information Server (IIS), the asp.dll is used to process ASP files.

When the asp.dll intercepts the ASP file, it compiles and executes the scripted portion of the page, rendering it to HTML, before sending it to the user's browser.
