Internet Protocol Address
The Internet Protocol Address, or IP Address, is a string of grouped numbers that specify a computer's location on the Internet, much like the house numbers at your residence, or your home phone number. The most standard IP Addresses in use today consist of 4 octets of 1 to 3 grouped digits, like 10.1.1.0 or 123.245.10.253. Each computer on the Internet can have more than one IP Address, but each must have at least one.
